President’s Message

First, let me thank all of you who sent me kind words on the passing of my brother. I really appreciated it.

Summer has now come and gone. It almost always seems to catch us of guard. The ice on my bird feeders this morning certainly confirmed that winter is on the way. It’s time to make one last pass in the garden.

At this month’s meeting we are pleased to have Kevin Halloran and Sharon Toth guide us as to when and how to prune our trees and shrubs.

Membership fees are due this month. It’s still just $15.00 for a single and $25.00 for a family membership. We will be issuing membership cards that will be valid from Oct. 2018 to Oct. 2019.

As our meeting falls on Halloween night please feel free to wear some kind of costume. We will have special treats for everyone.

Next month on November 28th will be our AGM. At this meeting we will have a pot luck dinner (the society provides turkeys and cranberry sauce) and the election of our board of directors.

The members of the Nomination Committee are Lise Bois (lisefbois@gmail.com), Sally Clark (sallyisinoakville@gmail.com) and John Clark (johnclarkinthecounty@gmail.com).

Board members willing to do another term are :

As my two year term is up, I will be stepping down as president. I will continue to sit on the board as past president.

Ideally, we would like another board member and someone willing to be president.
