Society Archives

archivesThe Prince Edward County Archives are maintained at the Wellington Library. Archived documents are an excellent resource for anyone interested in any aspect of local history. The mandate of the archives is to collect and preserve printed material having any bearing on the history of Prince Edward County.

As noted elsewhere on our site, the PEC Horticultural Society has been in existence for almost one hundred and fifty years, and yet if you visit the PEC Archives you’ll find only three pages of historical documents.

With your help, we can improve on that and ensure that, in future, people interested in the Horticultural Society’s history will find a rich collection of documents about us. If you have photographs, minutes of meetings, financial statements, or pretty much anything about our society over the past 150 years, we’d like to have them in the PEC archives – either donated by you, or loaned to have a copy made.

You can bring your old documents to the next Society meeting and talk to Howard Hunter, or contact Howard directly with your suggestions, offers, or questions by using the form below.
